The Di Giovanna family has been cultivating organic vineyards for five generations in western Sicily, just outside the town of Sambuca di Sicilia. Brothers Gunther & Klaus manage the family’s 56 hectare estate and winery where their hand crafted wines are made and bottled. Their wines are made exclusively with their estate fruit and all of their vineyards are certified organic by Suolo e Salute SRL.

Wine Description:
This classic example of Chardonnay named ‘Gerbino’, after
the family’s oldest vineyards surrounding the old country
house from mid 1800’s of their great grandfather.

The Chardonnay grapes come from several French clones
planted in the high altitude San Giacomo vineyards that
surround the Di Giovanna winery. The grapes were hand
picked, macerated for 8 hours temperature controlled.
Fermented in stainless steel tank and left on the fine lees for
3 months with regular batonage.

The wine is golden yellow with an expressive bouquet of ripe ruby red grapefruit, green apple white peach. This leads to a
rich and round mouthfeel with an elegant acidic core. Notes of ripe grapefruit and peach linger softly, lengthy mineral finish.

Food Suggestions:
This wine is a perfect match for chicken dishes. Pairs very
well with vegetable based pasta, like zucchini & mushrooms
with grated cheese, and legume soups.
